We are looking for a proactive and detail-oriented QC Chemist to join our Quality Control team in Manchester. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced analyst to play a key role in supporting manufacturing, research and development, and a wide variety of customer projects within a dynamic and collaborative environment, as part of an International organisation.

What you'll be doing
As a QC Chemist, you'll perform a wide range of analytical activities, helping to ensure our products consistently meet the highest quality standards. You'll work closely with colleagues across Quality, Production and PR&D, applying your technical expertise to solve problems and deliver reliable analytical results. You should be able to work in a fast-paced environment whilst delivering high quality analysis.
Key responsibilities include (but may not be limited to):
- Conducting qualitative and quantitative chemical analysis of a variety of raw materials, intermediates and finished products associated with the Company’s operations.
- Performing material sampling and sample preparation and testing to support Quality Control, Production and PR&D activities.
- Supporting analytical method development and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Ensuring all testing is completed in line with GMP, ISO standards, Company procedures and client requirements, in a timely manner.
- Managing workload effectively, and maintaining accurate, audit-ready laboratory records and project documentation to level suitable for external examination.
- Interpreting, presenting and communicating analytical results to managers, colleagues and clients where required, both verbally and in writing.
- Supporting the QC Manager, QC Team Leader and wider QC team in delivering day-to-day laboratory operations and the Quality Control operations of the Company.
- Managing multiple priorities and pressures while maintaining high standards of analysis, demonstrating accuracy and attention to detail.
- Completing time and analytical reports and records in accordance with agreed SOPs.
- Contributing to a culture of continuous improvement, safety and scientific excellence.
- Staying informed of developments in analytical chemistry, relevant scientific progress and laboratory best practice.
- Promoting and adhering to all Health, Safety, Quality and 5S requirements.
What we're looking for
- Minimum 2 years' experience in a Quality Control laboratory operating within a GMP and/or ISO-regulated environment.
- Experience in a minimum of 1-2 of the following listed techniques:
- HPLC (preferred), GC (preferred), NMR (preferred), LCMS, ICP-OES
- Strong practical analytical chemistry skills and laboratory experience.
- Ability to work effectively both independently (occasional lone working) and as part of a team.
- Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality, accurate results.
- Strong organisational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- A proactive approach to problem-solving and continuous improvement.
