CARBOGEN AMCIS & Heidelberg Pharma Formula for Successful Collaboration
During the BOS Basel, on the 08 June 2022, Heidelberg Pharma (Dr. Christan Lutz) and CARBOGEN AMCIS (Dr. Thomas Schlatterer) held a presentation about their collaboration and the ADC development. The cyclic peptide α-Amanitin and analogue amatoxins have been investigated for over sixty years mostly by extraction from death cap mushrooms of the species Amanita phalloides. α-Amanitin is a highly selective and potent inhibitor of eukaryotic RNA polymerase II. Despite such exceptional biological activity and pharmacological potential, the total synthesis of α-Amanitin and related compounds still remain a very challenging task, due to unique structural features.

Dr. Thomas Schlatterer
CARBOGEN AMCIS, Head of Sales Europe & Asia Pacific
Thomas Schlatterer received a Ph.D. in organic chemistry (heterocyclic chemistry) at the University of Konstanz, Germany. He joined CARBOGEN AMCIS in 2001 at the Aarau site as a project chemist leading several production projects. In 2003 he moved to the Hunzenschwil site to work in his new position as Manager of Project Coordination and 2 years later joined the sales team responsible for Germany, Switzerland and Austria. Thomas has expertise in contract chemical process, R&D, and analytical chemistry in the field of active pharmaceutical ingredients (APIs) including highly potent molecules. In his current position is heading the sales team in Europe & Asia Pacific.
Dr. Christian Lutz
Heidelberg Pharma Research GmbH, Director Project Management CMC
Dr. Christian Lutz is working at Heidelberg Pharma Research as a director of project management CMC. He has more than 20 years’ experience in the biotechnology industry. His previous roles included synthetic organic chemistry, analytics, and bio-analytics. Christian currently oversees the ADC development and production at Heidelberg Pharma Research. He obtained his PhD in organic chemistry from the University of Marburg, Germany
